AllCity Wireless’ WiDirect and WiClient equipment were used to deliver WIFI services during the 2012 London Olympics. They were deployed at the Al Jazeera Studios, the Africa Village and the Stratford Broadcast Tower for the BBC by the Pinnacle Technology Group, the UK AIM listed provider of Cloud-based technology solutions.

WiDirect services were also used for The Times Cheltenham Literary Festival, and for extensive successful tests delivering wireless broadband services across Cheltenham itself.

Martin Stephenson, Head of Special Projects for Pinnacle Technology Group, said “We have been very impressed with the levels of control and ease of deployment for the WiDirect and WiClient equipment, and Pinnacle Group intends to integrate this technology into both our core infrastructure and remote deployments in the foreseeable future.”

Further widespread deployments in the UK of large scale wireless systems using the WiDirect are already planned for 2013.
